Challenge Day 17...Highs and Lows

October 3, 2010 - October 3, 2011 was a fairly evenly keeled year. We will start with the lows...just to get them over with! I don't like to dwell on the bad days! The highs were much more plentiful and are much more fun to read about!

LOW TIMES
~hearing from my doctor that my yearly exam was abnormal and required a 'scraping' to determine what was wrong. She even used the 'C' word...
~frustrating relationships (a post for a different day)
~summer's end combined with a difficult beginning to the school year
~daughter drama
~having the flu for the first time...it was the worst sick I can ever remember being. Definitely getting a flu shot this year!!!

HIGH TIMES
~getting an 'all clear' from the doctor!
~finding the best bra ever! The Victoria's Secret Dream Angels Push-Up Bra. It.Is.Awesome. I got another.

~celebrating my one-year wedding anniversary with the love of my life!
~rediscovering my inner craftiness once again :-)
~finding a quilting class to take. I am stoked! And my mommy is taking it too!
Class supplies...it was therapeutic to buy these! :-)
~making a quilt in kindergarten!!! Oh YES we DID! And it was my first and only attempt at one...EVER!
~Florida vacation! Our first major trip as a family of 6! DISNEY!
~seeing the Yankees play...and taking Lefty to her first Yankee game...priceless.indeed.
Yes, those were real tears as she realized Derek Jeter was taking the field eighty yards away from her.

My How Things Change!

When I was 13, I visited Epcot for the first time. I was there again at age 17 and 24. This time, with older children, I was able to see the many ways the park has changed over the course of 20 years. Epcot is where we spent Day 2 of our fantastic family vacation.

"Mine, Mine, Mine"...these birds weren't there before!

One of the exhibits that I enjoyed the most of the entire trip was Living with the Land, or more specifically the Disney gardens. They have grown some amazing vegetation...some that I love to eat, but have never seen growing before. Since I grew up around gardens, it was amazing to me to see how they grow!

Fluted pumpkin...what the heck is that?

9 pound lemon...no, really...that's it's name.

Brussel sprouts! I love these guys!
We saw Chip and Dale and Snow White in Epcot too!

The storm clouds rolled in while we toured the World Showcase...

So we detoured to Italy for lunch. Yum!

Hubs and the kiddos rode Spaceship Earth, Maelstorm, Mission Space, and Test Track. I don't ride many (hardly any) rides, due to a back surgery four years ago. I probably would ride anyway, because I am a giant human chicken! I did ride Soarin' though...and it made me super dizzy! All in all, Epcot was a great park to start our Disney experience with. Maybe this will put it in perspective...

Vacay Babay!

Hubs and I are just recovering after being home for a week from a little over a week in...you guessed it...Disney World!!! We took the kids, rented a house, and had a blast! Among the seven cameras being used, we accumulated over 1500 photos of our expedition...of which 1427 remain as I sift through the blurry, the random, and the unexplainable to get to the good. With all of that being said, you will be viewing tons of pics for a while.

To hit the highlights of our trip, check out this little preview of posts to come!

Day 1: All four kids on an airplane for the first time!
Day 1: 10th Birthday dinner at Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom
Day 2: Epcot

 Day 3: Magic Kingdom

Day 4: Daytona Beach

Day 5: Animal Kingdom

Day 6: Hollywood Studios

Day 7: Do-Over Day...Magic Kingdom it is!

Day 8: St. Pete's Beach on birthday #33...AND...

Sadly, on day 9, we flew home. It was certainly an action packed adventure...hubs and I need a vacay from that vacay! More details to come soon...
