Before our movie, my sweet guy took me to dinner at my favorite place to eat steak, Savannah's. I don't typically like steak, and very rarely will order it. On a stroke of extreme randomness one night, I ordered the special (filet mignon, topped with grilled shrimp, smothered in a garlic creme' sauce)...and now I only order steak when we go there. Delish. Truly, it melts in your mouth. This time, the special was crab stuffed filet mignon drizzled with a bleu cheese creme' sauce. Oh. My. Merciful. Heaven. Or possibly hell, because it was so decadent that it had to be sinful. After gorging on amazing steak dinners (that we got for less than half price, thanks to a coupon and an error on the ticket), we headed to the theater. The movie that I have been waiting a year to see...was eh. Just ok. However, I am very excited for Breaking Dawn, Part 2. It will be fantastical! AND I saw the preview for Snow White and the Huntsman. Can't wait! It has the guy from Thor in it...yep, there went my blood pressure. Smokin' hot. Anywho...terrific dinner, decent (but long-awaited) movie, and perfect company...it was a great date night. Love my guy...

Date Night!
How long has Breaking Dawn been in theaters? FOREVER!!! Hubs finally broke down and took me to see it. He has been so awesome to take me to see each movie in the saga. (I think he actually likes them, to tell the truth.) I was so stoked about date night that I tried a smokey eye with new colors. I tend to be fearful of new colors on my eyes because I am afraid that I will get too much...or too dark. This one worked out great!

Challenge Day 24/30...Let's Go to the Movies...
What I've learned is that life is too short and movies are too long. ~Denis Leary
That quote is totally me. I have a hard time sitting still long enough to watch most movies. It just feels like I am wasting time better spent DOING something. I can't stand for my hands and brain to not be actively engaged. I bet I only physically go to the movies three times a year...if that! Because I am just not a movie girl, I don't have a specific favorite. I thought I'd list my top 10 of all time, and see how they compare to yours!

And so the story ends...
or actually it doesn't. Not since the dawn of the Harry Potter series anyway. Nothing against Harry Potter, just all of the series books in general. I began reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl last week with the hope of actually reading a book with a storyline that ENDED! No luck. I get to the 563rd page to find there is a sequel. Dammit.
Now, I have never attempted to write a book, so maybe finishing a story is harder than the average reader might think. However, it is becoming increasingly annoying to never get to the resolution. I have been a novel reader since birth. Okay, not birth, but my Nanny started me reading historical romances and Christian romances when I was 10. Those stories always had a beginning, middle, and an end...all in one book, not three (or six)! As did the amazing Mary Higgins Clark books that enthralled me through my pre-teen years, or the Kathleen Woodiwiss novels from that same time period.

Is the problem that there is truly such difficulty in finishing a story...or that there is more money to be made by continuing it? That is what Chris thinks. He is probably right. He tends to be that way. Right, that is. Anywho, Warner Bros just signed a deal a few months ago to turn this series into movies. So there I have it. Money. It's all about the money...not the story. Who knew?
