Quilt Class...2 Down, 1 To Go!

My last two Saturdays have been spent with my Mom, at a quilting class! I was so intent on getting my challenge posts in that I didn't get around to showing you what I have been up to in the crafting world. But now, with two weeks down, and one to go...this is what I have learned:

1. pin a piece of flannel to the wall to display your progress. it helps you map out where to go from where you are! duh!
2. rail fences, four patches, nine patches, friendship stars, log cabins, flying geese...and there's more...
3. fabric sizing is not the same as starch
4. consistency matters...1/4" seams are the shiz-nit, but I tend to stitch at a 'scant'
5. next week we learn to bind and quilt, which I am not sure about because I am so not ready for that...I just figured out where I want the squares placed!

My sewing station at my class looks like this...

  2. I like the fabrics you picked. It is my mom's dream that I take a quilting class with her, but so far no dice. I am visiting from the weekend wander. About to check out the challenge you just finished :).

  3. Stopping by from Weekend Wander. That's very pretty fabric :) I have no idea what I would do with it though since I can't sew a lick. I have my husband set up the sewing machine and just move the fabric while pushing the pedal to hem my workout pants.

  4. How wonderful that you are doing this with your mom. My Mom would never do that ( in the past or now!) and neither of my daughters are interested! I am so jealous lol. You are doing great and I love your fabrics!

Thank you for taking the time to read my stuff and nonsense. I love to hear from you, so please don't go without leaving something for me to read!
