Peepin' Out

Every week, when we have all four kiddos here for the weekend, the youngest ones (7 and 9) ask what craft we are going to do. This started from one weekend when we took broken crayons and melted them into giant circle crayons. They apparently assumed from then on that there would be a craft each time that they were here, so the pressure was on to find something crafty for all four of them to enjoy twice a month. We have made crayons, made cookies, made 'knot blankets,' tie-dyed Christmas ornaments, and now...made Easter Peep topiaries. They. Are. Adorable. Look, you'll see!

The idea came from Woman's Day magazine. Be sure to click the link for step-by-step instructions. It was super easy! The magazine used a green bucket with green grass and a green dowel rod with yellow Peeps. It looked a bit like a sunflower. I thought it would be cute if we staggered the rod heights according to the kids' ages and let them choose random colors for their buckets and Peeps. We also added the little ornamental butterflies and eggs. The goal is to spray them with a craft adhesive in the next day or so to keep them cute as can be!
