Hair? There? Ugh.

Hair has its purposes. To be soft, luxurious, and fashionably beautiful on our heads being one. Another is to restrict the passage of unhealthy things into our noses and eyes. I am aware of this use...and quite grateful for it when a mosquito is buzzing around the beads of sweat on my upper lip as I sit and watch Lefty, Lou, or the Boy play ball in the summertime. Being aware and liking are two entirely different things.

Hair elsewhere? What's the point? I mean really. It itches when boogies and dust get in nose hairs. If you remove it, you get itchy, unsightly bumps in tender places; whether from a razor, hot wax, or chemicals applied that react with sensitive skin. If you don't remove hair frequently, there is stubble, occasionally dark and icky. We wax, tweeze, and pluck near our eyes; we wax and pluck our upper lip; and those random stray hairs that sprout out here and there...I hate hair...hair anywhere but on my head.

With all of that being said, I am thinking of laser hair removal for my underarms.  I have no use for hair there; I never tan there; and I always feel very self-conscious in the summer when I wear tanks because I am afraid I am stubbly by 5 pm. What are your thoughts on this? Any experiences I should know about beforehand? Words of wisdom or hilarity? C'mon people, I'm bordering on 5 o'clock shadow of the pits here...

  1. Hey, I want to have hair laser removal for my underarms too! I think it would make my life easier, right?

Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog and for encouraging me to continue breastfeeding. It means a lot to me and at this point I really need a very convincing support group to help me with the process.

    Have a nice day!

  3. Never done it myself, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about getting a majority of my hair on my body laser removed. I hate shaving.

  4. @Jeanna...you know you want to.

@Ashley...the spa in town that does the treatments has a woman that claims to have had the procedure done, full body, excluding her head. It was really a mental picture I so did not want; however, I would guess that her life was made infinitely more easy!
